I should have made clear in my post that this is for a Berkut, not a
Velocity (I'm on the list as a courtesy). With 1250 empty weight and only
2 people on board, Berkut *can* use a steeply pitched fixed cruise prop,
and still have acceptable climb and takeoff performance. But my mission is
changing slightly, and really GOOD climb and takeoff is becoming more
important.
Thanks for all your replies. It sounds like the newer hydraulic props
don't have the same level of problems that was scaring me off of the older
ones.
