REFLECTOR: Brake Seal & Fluid Changeover

We have never experimented with DOT-3.  The optional interconnected rudder
pedal assy with toe brakes has 4 master brake cylinders that are designed to
use red mil-spec 5056 hydraulic fluid as the brake fluid.  Kinda nice for
those with an RG - they can carry a small supply of hydraulic fluid in their
"tool kit" to service both the hydraulic pump and the brakes.  George will
clue you in to the consequences of switching to DOT3.  I really don't know
if this spec. will affect the seals and o-rings - or if it can withstand the
temperatures imposed at the (slave) brake pistons.
