What I did was to install it in the forward door frame latch mechanism
receptacle. I created a notch in the receptacle tube and installed the
microswitch adjacent to the tube so that the arm of the switch gets
triggered by the latch bar being present in the tube. This means that
in order for the door warning light to go off, not only the door has to
be closed but it also needs to be securely latched.

My hope is that by incorporating the door light into the pre-take off
checklist, it will reduce the likelihood of in-flight door opening.

I've just installed my doors, and I see that I have these nifty
microswitches in my kit, but no instructions on where best to install
them. Any ideas on what the preferred placement would be (and perhaps a
picture)?? Thanks.

Brett
