Lets see, IFR approach into landing in near freezing temps in mist, gear
down,  pitot heat on - no way, gear down!.  I would put in an LED indicator
light that shows when the pitot heat is on.  Maybe a heat fuselink by the
pitot tube so that it would blow if the glass got to hot.
