REFLECTOR:A (re)volting problem

I'm not flying yet, but I wouldn't suggest flying into icing conditions on
purpose.  It has been done (see Denis Wood's article on the front of the
latest Velocity Views regarding climbing out of Goose Bay), but canards are
known to be vulnerable to icing.  Actually, an iced-up pitot tube could be
the least of your problems if you should ever run into serious icing
conditions!
Despite the above, I'm still planning a heated pitot installation.  The
sharp point on a pitot has a tendency to pick up ice in light icing
conditions, while the wings remain ice-free.
