Mack,
I don't understand why the research. Velocity has already done this and =
has come up with a parts package to provide Cleveland brakes and wheels =
so that they can be retrofitted to your flying Velocity XL. It involves =
the use of the MATCO axles, a specially machined spacer (to move the =
disks away from the gear leg and to position the wheel/tire assembly =
into the same geometric position as the original wheels - so no =
modifications are needed to the wheel wells inside the wing strakes), a =
phenolic pad to insulate the fiberglass gear leg from heat, and all of =
the necessary mounting hardware. This package is available now - give =
Natalie a call at the Velocity parts department. The cost of the system =
for retro fit installations is around $1,100.

Today I looked at a Cleveland parts book. The Cessna 180 is using =
several different brake part numbers it depends on The year model. =
Tomorrow we will call Cleveland for help. I will ask for all the part =
numbers for kit 199-06000.
