Jack,

I never put the compounds back on. I returned them to the factory and
instead, tried to make the Matco's work. I improved the Matco's but only
got them up to an acceptable level. Fully loaded and landing at 85 KNTS
required 2800 feet and a perfect landing. Not enough margin for error. It
is the aborted take off that is the worst situation. Fully loaded with the
plane at rotation speed of 85 KNTS and a decision to abort you will need
about 2000 feet and fast reactions to shut down the engine and make an
emergency stop. In that it takes 1500 feet to get to rotation speed, we
shouldn't be using anything less than 3,500 feet for XL's equipped with
Matco's.

Can't wait for the Clevelands.
