TEC, heres a copy of an email I sent a while ago regarding thermocouples
for the Vision

I think the AS part number was MM-111

<<COPY FOLLOWS>>>>>

installed my cheaper parts today.

one MP sensor, bought from Digi-Key for $44, Vision price $79
one EGP probe bought from AS for $35, Vision price $69

The MP sensor was the same part, manufacturer and part number, as Vision was
selling. So basically the same part, but not repackaged by Vision. It
worked perfectly.

The EGT probe was made by Universal Sensors and looks to be a superior
product than the ones that came with the VM1000. Higher quality
probe(built in heat sink, better wire support at termination), easier
installation because of configuration of clamp and probe, higher quality
wire(stainless outer braid instead of plastic). It worked perfectly too.
Tme will tell as to how nuch staying power the replacement probe has.

I'm not saying not to buy a VM1000 system, but I think it would be wise to
shop around for replacement parts, since they have chose to apply an almost
100% markup on accessories that they don't manufacture. Quite a high price
for redistribution.

I think we are lucky and well served by the Velocity Factory because they
have chosen to not play this game.
