Thanks for the info. I understand your comment on building. It is a L =
O N G process. I just got through building mine - took twice as long as =
I planned - at some points along the way, I'd see a Mooney land and say, =
I could have been flying that already. But now that I'm done, I love my =
Velocity!!!!

Have you seen Bob Hugel's database of Velocities at =
http://www.lehightechnology.com/velocity/

HAPPY FLYING!
Ronnie

I agree with Ronnie. I don't have much Velocity experience yet, but a =
cheap Wal-Mart battery works just fine in my cars, boat, and backhoe, =
contrary to professional advice that more cranking amps are needed.=20

My suggestion is to find batteries that are easily available from =
the Wal-Mart when your battery(ies) go "fffttt" while you are a long way =
from home. I used a group 35 battery which is a bit smaller than the =
factory recommended GM battery. I had problems getting the recommended =
battery to fit without getting hit by the nose wheel fork when the gear =
is retracted in my 173 Elite std fuselage. Ronnie =20

Any thoughts on the best batteries to you can buy? Primary and =
backup?I think a deep cycle is best for a backup battery since it is =
made to run over a period of time with a steady drain. For the primary =
battery you want strong cranking amps.Any thoughts on brands? Or =
models?
