Jim,

Sounds like there's more history to the fuel shut-off
valve than I know. FWIW, I believe the valve and a
push/pull cable are now part of the engine install pkg
from the factory. They weren't in '98 when I got my
kit - but I just recently bought both from Natalie
(the XL needs a 12' cable, 10' doesn't cut it - don't
ask how I know...). The brackets are up to builder to
make.
