Jerry,
Yes. The failure mode on a Marvel carb. is to go to WOT. There is a spring
on the throttle shaft that opens the throttle in the event the control cable
fails. I confess that I have never looked at a throttle body to see if it is
set up the same but I suspect it would be for the same safety reasons.
