I apologize for the quality of these pics. I'm having trouble with my digital camera. I striped the foam and upholestry from my wifes 1992 Eagle Talon to build my seats. More about it on the other pics.
|
The Talon seat upholstery slid over the assemble easily and only required a touch of extra padding to fill it out. The job took less than 3 hours from start to finish and it fit nicely in to the fuselage. The seats are "Feather Light" and look beautiful.
|
I then installed snaps around the edges of the seat covers so they fasten securely to the seat pan and are still easy to remove later if necessary. I will later use these seat covers as a pattern for leather seat covers. Can anyone tell me if there is a reason not to use this standard automotive material inside my plane?? If so, please e-mail me at: MitchDCGS@aol.com

I pulled out the drivers seat, disassembled it, and fitted the seat foam and seat upholstery to the Velocity (STD-FG) seat pan and seat back. The foam fit perfectly to the fiberglass trays!!!

I made "NO" modifications to the foam to make it fit the seat pan!! Just some contact cement to make it fasten tightly to the pan. Then I slipped the seat covers on and added a tiny bit of foam in spots that needed to be filled out (mainly on the sides of the seat backs).
