I AM NOT SURE THAT THE JEFFCO IS "NECESSARY" at all.  It supposedly has 
excellent resistance to all solvents/fuels.  The main reason I used it is 
that it is very easy to use and easy to see pinholes/possible leaks.  Also, 
much of the experience with the EZ epoxy is with AV gas .  I am not sure 
that it's resistance to diesel is as well known.

The Diesel fuel caps have a 3" opening (diesel fuel nozzle won't fit in the 
standard opening.
