the GNS430 is a 28 volt system device.  I talked to garmin about it and they 
said that they were thinking about making a 12-14 volt unit but do not have 
one available yet.  They also told me that there is a converter that they can 
supply that will addapt it to a current 14 V system. I forgot the part 
number, and they didn't mention the price.  I'll do some more detective work 
at S&F, like I'm sure many of you will.  Till then,
