Another alternative is a product called SPRAYLAT  from Spruce.  It is a latex
compound "specially formulated as a strippable protective coating for acrylic
(Plexiglas) both flat and formed."

You can spray, brush, or roll the stuff on.  It dries somewhat translucent so
it still lets light in through the windows. They say it will go on at about
.004" without saging.    .008" is recommended for 1 year of indoor storage  

I brushed on 3 such coats and it is still holding up fine at 2 years.   3
coats inside and outside used up about  half of a quart bottle.
