REFLECTOR: Elite dual throttles Update 1
Due to the overwhelming response I have taken the pictures and will see
if Brian will post them. I may be able to get the pictures and details
dine by Monday or Tuesday.
As a little overview, I tested the installation today and found the
throttle action smooth and relatively easy. With no friction lock the
resistance is about what I like for flying. The good news is you can
use two standard Velocity throttle cables with little modification other
than removing the friction lock from the co-pilots cable. The
installation allows almost identical bends and places the mounting
bracket almost on the centerline of the engine and about 1 1/2" below
the sump. Action is positive with no perceived slop. The bracket is
mounted using three of the drain plug holes found in the Lycoming intake
sump one of which are normally used for the "sniffle valve". This is a
challenge and more to come.
