Re: REFLECTOR: oil temp

Since the Franklin has a downdraft cooling system I found it very helpful
for the oil cooling to keep the 400 degree air from the cylinders separated
from the oil pan and especially the oil cooling fins on the bottom of the
engine.  It it very hard to cool 200 degree oil with 400 degree air.  To
solve this problem I attached rubber sheeting to the sides of the oil pan
extending down to the cowling, then outward.  I also use excess air from
around the carb. intake to cool the bottom fins.  This is simple to do and
provided more cooling than my second oil cooler did.
