Here is something to investigate for the Elite door. My door will fall at the drop of a pin. In JC Whitney, there are little brackets that lock the spring in the up position when needed. They cost $6.99 each and are part number - 13BH4688T. They are called "Lift Support Repair Bracket." Looks extremely useful to me. Will they work, I don't know. See page 29. Andy Judge N55AJ FGE
