Incidence gauges

Hi all,

Recently, some concern was noted about the canard and wing incidence gauges
taking a twist and becoming inaccurate. Can anyone think of a reason why
gluing a piece of 90 degree angle aluminum to the gauge to straighten things
out won't work? It would seem that it would pull things back to where they
were when the gauge was built. I mention this as thinking of the things that
the U.S. Postal Service could do to the gauges makes my skin crawl. 

Seriously in danger of over-simplification...
