Builders, The "Sparrow Strainer" is an auto pilot for pitch. All canards at cruise tend to "hunt" slowly up and down without this aerodynamic gismo. Velocities fly fine without the "SS" but they fly better with it, especially across country. Its pitch dampening characteristics on landing are especially helpful for those ham handed new canard pilots. Try it you will like it. Alan
