Taking a lesson from my Grumman which also has a free castoring

nosewheel.  I torque the large castle nut until I get about 15

lbs on the tire.  This is measured by using a fish scale on the

tire tread, and pulling with the scale.

This seems to work as I have very little trouble steering, and

basically no shimmy.  

One thing, you will have to make it approximately 15 lbs based

on lining up the holes for the cotter pin.
